destinazione Italia {destination Italy}

It's official - we booked!  We are heading back to Italy!

Next year this little family will be traveling abroad to visit relatives overseas in Italy!  We headed off to the Europe Travel Expo on the weekend and finally made a commitment and booked out tickets for next winter (so summer time over there)

We celebrated with breakfast at a nearby cafe and then darling hubby got the urge to cook his delicious meatballs for dinner, accompanied by some yummy garlic bread and great vino.  Can you tell our love of food!! Even our daughter took her bread and wiped her plate clean!  A true little Italian Signorina!

So even though this trip is months and months away we are on the wave of excitement and trepidation as we take the plunge in taking our children who will be 5 and 3 during travels.  So if anyone has travelled with little ones before - please please grace me with your travel tips, do's and don'ts!

xx

  1. Oh yippee, i went to Italy in July, LOVE IT!! Amazed at how easy it is to remember where to walk around, the sites, just comes back to you. I married into an Italian family (i know, McClelland, so Italian) but boy do our children have a natural taste for gelato & anything Italian. My 3rd girl just announced she is going to learn Italian in high school & go to Uni in Roma. Oh, she's 9 & already planning to pack her bags. She has the olive skin, half way there!! Have a beautiful trip & remember 'saldi' - they have the best sales in Summer - the designer clothes i bought in July at 70% off are now hitting the shops in Australia. Love Posie

  5. How exciting!Enjoy all the prep and traveling with kids these days is getting easier and easier...I traveled back to France regularly by myself with my girls and I just learned one thing...keep away from escalators (or beware of a massive tantrum to get on all of them:) LOL
