a night at the movies {treasury}

Movie Night

My Boys Movie Quote Print in a Treasury!  I think this has only every happened once, and I missed it, but this time I thought I would share it, as to be honest....I'm quite chuffed!  So excuse me whilst I just have a little moment of self congratulation.

Prints available here (Etsy) and here (Made It)

Do you love a good treasury?  Do you make 'em or peruse them?  Colour code or theme them?

these days...

The last few days...

I've been
On the couch - researching new couches (and resting of course!)
Spending time with my girl - who is very considerate of a recovering mumma
Finished the 50 Shades Series
Spending on Etsy - a gorgeous infinity bracelet for my man
A concert - Booked tickets for 1927 concert - another gift for my husband
And posting off orders - of course when out of action, you have a spike in sales.

How do you best recover after you've been unwell?

what's your favourite line....

A little while back I made a Movie Quote Print for a friend of ours.  It became quite a talking point and some others were made at friends' request.

Now they are available in my shop.

I did a Romantic Movie one for us girls and one full of quotes from all those macho boys movies!  I'll admit I have favourites on both....I'm partial to a good action flick every now again and it was almost impossible not to catch enough of The Godfather Epic for some of it to stick....but never fear girls....My hubby has reciprocated through The Notebook, Pretty Woman and The Princess Bride in our years together!  All classics in my eyes....and have some of the most memorable lines.

But I'd love to know...

What's your ultimate favourite line from any movie??  The one that makes you weak at the knees or keeling over in laughter...reaching for the kleenex or doing your best impersonation??

Do share?

Shop Update.....

It's been a while since I paid my little shop some attention.  I've taken a little break from my Etsy shop, but I still love to spend time nuturing my Made It Shop (and doing some shopping there too!)...

So...if you have a spare few minutes and you still need some Christmas pressies, or stocking fillers do pop over to Made It.  I love admiring so many crafty folk we have in Aus!  I'll show you some great purchases I've made soon.

My store can be found here - I have added some new items, as well as reducing some of my others!

new in store....

Just updated some items into my Made It store....

My fabric bird and elephant mobiles have been popular with my suppliers and at markets and now I had some time to make some for my shop.  I'm loving the bright colours and combinations.  Every time I think I've picked a favourite I change my mind.  But that's the best thing...coming up fabrics that just POP when you mix them together.

Check them out here...

wardrobe wednesday {florals}

Florals are in this spring/summer collection... I'm seeing them pop up everywhere in floaty dreamy styles and adorning all sorts of wardrobe items from clothes, bags to scarves and belts.

A good excuse to wear a little floral number that I've had for a while, but wasn't quite sure if it was all too Nanna style!  It's actually a really nice little singlet top and a silk and cotton blend so feels a little lux.  Went great with my amber necklace that I re-strung a while ago.  Of course, Melbourne being Melbourne layers are essential!

I've seen a few floral numbers on Etsy and Made It too....here are some that caught my eye...

Bauble earrings - Katcharly
Elephants - Babysroom
Necklace- Lunarbelle
Reversible tote - flourishlifestyle

My outfit -

Top - Harris Scarfe
Cardi - Dotti
Badge - The Lark
Jeans - Kmart
Shoes - from Italy
Necklace - Old amber necklace

spin a bib....

Ok, so remember the children's story of Rumplestilskin??  You know, the one where a girl is kidnapped and made to spin hay into gold, only she can't.  Thankfully a funny little man appears in the night and spins the hay into gold for her in exchange for a valuable item...

Until he requests her first born child! The young woman cries and cries at the thought of handing over her precious new born baby and the funny little man shows grace and says that he will forget her promise if she can guess his name within three days! Thankfully she does - Rumplestilskin is your name!  And she gets to keep her baby!  Strange story really (for the little people  - it's a bit odd - I mean she marrys the king that kidnaps her!)

Anyhooo - I've been spinning up a few crazy fabric and beaded bib necklaces after my first attempt went down well.   People in the street and in shops were admiring my handy work!  I'm not really sure what came over me - one night I was planning on cutting out some children's dress patterns and each time I looked at a stash of fabric all I saw was more and more options for some bib necklaces - so I went with that and these are what I came up with!  I'm still using what I have in my stash - although I admit I've run out of ribbon so will have to get more to finish off some others.

Some are made with denim, some with a beautiful deep mustard felt with gorgeous fabric and beading.

As much as I'd love to keep them all, a quick little research on Made It and Etsy yielded nothing of it's kind, so I've added them to my shops!

Birthday Giveaway!

No, my blog is not having a birthday - actually it will be my birthday soon, and instead of it being all about me - well, it can be about me a little bit, I thought it would be a great time to have another giveaway!

So what will this giveaway be.....

Totally up to you!

If you are the winner, you can choose from items in my store up to the value of $29.

Why $29 - well, that is how old I am turning, so I thought that would be a good enough reason.

As it's my birthday giveaway and I am making up all the rules, I will make entry really really easy peasy.

Just leave a comment below and thats it!  If you think that is too easy....take a look in either my Etsy Store or my recently updated Made It store to see what captures your eye and let me know what you would pick if you are the lucky winner!!

Get commenting - entries close 21st July 2010 at 12noon - why?  That's my birthday!

Australian Residents only!

(picture of Audrey taken by well known photographer Philippe Halsman who got all of his clients to jump as their very last photo - and I think they are all combined in a book!)
