Monday snippets

Last week Victoria enjoyed a public holiday for a horse race that stops a Nation.  Well, we decided to take a whole week off so we packed the kids up to spend some time in the country.  Time off school, time off work and no routine (as such) was meet with very agreeably.

We lazed about, went for many walks.
Drank water from their favourite fountains and
Enjoyed roof tops and rising early with nowhere to go
Watched from a window with a view
Even the washing was fun
I found myself a nice cozy chair for day time reading
A festival was on...of a Celtic nature so they closed the streets and put on a show
We enjoyed the drum beats and bag-pipes
and giggled at the men in skirts.

Do you like to make a public holiday last a bit longer than it should?

At my house {birds and stars...}

Playing along with Lou today....so what's going at my house?  I'm seeing lots of birds and stars at the moment.  A lot.

The lovely Jade from The Clothes Line store in picturesque Beechworth ordered sixty Christmas ornaments from me...

so I've been having lots of fun cutting, preparing, sewing and packaging up these birds and stars to send off to her store.  Mixing great festive prints, with some neutral tones and adding some thrifted doilies to mark a bird wing, this group of birds and stars make great decorations....

Before saying goodbye to such a large stash, I wanted to get an idea of how they would look en masse as a decoration.

Armed with a tree branch and vase, I set to work decking the bare branches - I couldn't fit all 60 on, but even with a third of the amount of there, it began to look very festive.

Luckily I have made a few extras for present toppers, gifts and perhaps even a giveaway soon....

What's going on at your house??  Has the festive season bug hit you too??  Visit what others are up to here....

New Stockist!!!!!!

I am delighted with joy to share with you that a few of my items have flown free from the nest and will be stocked in a wonderful shop in Beechworth, which is in a gorgeous little country town in North East Victoria!  I love visiting this old gold rush town, full of history, lovely bric-a-brac shops, local produce, wineries not too far away and the famous Beechworth Bakery.

These are some of the items that have been sent off - my fabric bird and elephant mobiles!

The shop - Clothes Line is fabulous store run by Jade and supports handmade products! It can be found at 64a Ford Street, Beechworth.
