snap {bianco e nero}

We get together each week with dear friends of ours so us Mothers can teach our daughters Italian.  It started at the beginning of the year when we lamented over our laziness at using the italian language daily with our children.  Now...we meet each week, learn, dance, talk and make fun games all in Italian.  The results have been marvellous.  My daughter can count, knows colours, parts of the body, and we made a photo book of themselves to prompt Italian conversation.

During the photo session, I snapped these two gorgeous girls having a giggle. The simple black and white  emphasises their features and the beauty that is friendship.

Do you teach your kids another language?
Do you have a black and white snap?  Share it with Sarah here...

  3. Please tell me you eat Italian while you're doing all this too!! It's gorgeous. I teach my children as much French as i know, which is surprisingly a lot, my husband teaches them Pashtun & Tetum, just in case they ever find themselves in a Middle Eastern war zone or Indonesian refugee camp. He also teaches them Italian, no point having the gorgeous olive skin if you can't speak the language. I think it's a language we should all learn properly, seeing Italy is our favourite country. 4. Sweet girls! What a great thing to do...no 2nd language in our house unless you count my Canadian husband's school-boy French which he had to learn due to that annoying provence next door to Ontario:))

  10. How lovely!! A gorgeous picture too. I'd love my boys to learn a language, the little guy is rather obsessed with France, so perhaps he & I could dabble in a little french..x

  11. First of all, what a STUNNING photo. Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

    As for languages, good on you for teaching your children Italian. Songs and games work a treat for kids (and adults too, so it seems!)

    We are learning French. All of us. Steve has been learning for years, and so is our daughter Kelly. (She even lived in Paris for six months last year). Now that Madison is learning French at school, I've started and am teaching Noah too. He's so cute!

    Do tell, what games are you playing? Education is fun when it doesn't feel like school!

    xx
